Tesseract Packs El Corazon

British progressive metal band, Tesseract, which is made up of Daniel Tompkins (vocals), Alec “Acle” Kahney (lead guitar), Jay Postones (drums), James Monteith (rhythm guitar) and Amos Williams (bass) are currently on a world tour in support of their latest release, Sonder.

The band is known for consisting releasing excellent albums and putting on exceptional live performances, and this evening at a packed El Corazon in Seattle was certainly no exception.

The venue was absolutely packed from the main floor, through the upper level, and those who got there right before the band made their way to the stage, they weren’t so fortunate with a decent view. The venue’s sound system was filled with ambient noise and the stage as filled with fog and illuminated in blue and green as the band hit the stage, opening with “Luminary”.

As the band was settling into their groove and Tompkins interacting with the audience, everyone front and center of the stage were jumping up and down, back and forth, as a mosh pit behind them opened up as the band tore into “Of Mind – Nocturne”.

Monteith was mellow in his rhythm guitar playing. Williams was an animal on bass, rocking out and making his way to the front of the stage and interacting with the crowd. Postones provided excellent time keeping on the drums. Kahney laid down some solid riffs and solos. Tompkins also kept making his way to the front of the stage and would have those in front catch him as he leaned over them, almost attempting to fall into the pit before him.

The band didn’t let loose or slow down as they made their way into “Concealing Fate, Part 2: Deception” and “Concealing Fate, Part 3: The Impossible”. Tesseract also performed tracks off of Polars such as “Dystopia” and “Survival” as well as Altered State, including such awesome tracks such as “Of Matter – Proxy” and “Of Matter – Retrospect”.

The band finished out their awesome fourteen song, eighty minute set with “King” and “Concealing Fate Part 1: Acceptance”.
