(Album Review) Knee High Fox – Jawbreaker

Knee High Fox is an alt / rock / electronic band that is based out of Los Angeles, CA. They are made up of Krsy Fox (vocals), Simon Nagel (bass), Sam Bam Koltun (guitar) and Harley Dewinter (drums).

The band is known for the highly energetic live performances and the band did a very good job of capturing that with their latest album. Jawbreaker is an eight-track musical effort that filled gritty hard-edged music that is a mix of industrial, electronica, dance beats, and killer vocals.

Knee High Fox – Jawbreaker

From the electronica infused opening track “WITCH”, the moody “Relapse”, the industrial sounding “Jawbreaker”, to the seductive “American Beauty”, Knee High Fox definitely cover many genres of music and they are able to pull it off very well.  The band does an excellet cover of “Lovepool” by the Cardigans.

Jawbreaker at times is dark and other times, its upbeat and poppy. The album is a rollercoaster of tempo, from and the listener is in for one hell of a ride. Krsy’s vocals are full of emotion throughout the album and are incredible.

Though there are many contrasting tempos throughout, Jawbreaker is a very solid effort. It is highly recommended that you pick up this album and if you get a chance, check out Knee High Fox if they may make their way to your area.

This album is a solid 8 out of 10…
