STYX and REO Speedwagon’s United We Rock Tour Comes To Auburn (PHOTOS)

Classic American rock and roll artists, Styx and REO Speedwagon, are currently co-headling the United We Rock Tour. The band came to the White River Amphitheater in Auburn WA. It was the second night of the tour and many a fan came out for the mid-week show to watch and listen to bands perform some great music that has withstood the test of time.

REO Speedwagon, which is made up of Kevin Cronin (vocals / guitar), Bruce Hall (bass), Neal Doughty (keyboards), Dave Amato (guitar) and Bryan Hitt (drums) came out and performed a great fourteen song 75 minute set that consisted of many fan favorites, hit singles and songs that the band is famously known for. Opening with “Don’t Let Him Go”, “Keep Pushing”, and “Can’t Fight This Feeling”, the crowd was singing and dancing along with the band. As the sun set and the band continued through their great set list, the band played “Take it on the Run” and “Keep on Loving You”, which saw many couples holding each other while slow dancing, hugging and smiling.

Styx, who is currently touring in support of their first album in over a decade, The Mission, is made up of James “JY” Young (vocals/guitars), Tommy Shaw (vocals / guitars), Todd Sucherman (drums), Lawrence Gowan (vocals / keyboards), and Ricky Phillips (bass), opened their set with “Gone, Gone, Gone” off The Mission, and the proceeded to play over an hour of classic music. “Blue Collar Man (Lonely Nights), “The Grand Illusion”, “Miss America” and “Too Much Time on My Hands” had everyone singing and rocking along. Surprise of the evening was when original bassist Chuck Panozzo made his way out to play bass and Gowan made his way to guitar during the song “Fooling Yourself (The Angry Young Man)”. The band also finished out the evening with “Rockin’ The Paradise” and “Renegade”. It was a great evening for classic rock and everyone who attended agreed.
