Trombone Shorty brought his blend of jazz and funk to CWU’s McConnell Theatre last Saturday. Coming off a successful tour with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, many had wondered how CWU was able to pull off bringing an act of this stature to the Ellensburg area.

Many people from all over Washington State made their way to McConnell. Some of them had tried to see the band when they were on tour with RHCP in Seattle. However, due to ticket prices and the show selling out, this was the only opportunity. One couple came all the way from Spokane, another from Tacoma.
Trombone Shorty along with his backing back Orleans Ave didn’t disappoint the nearly sold out crowd. People of all ages danced in the aisles while the band performed.
The band will be back in the Seattle area this summer for a performance at Woodland Park Zoo.
