The opening act was John Doe and Exene Cervenka of the punk rock band X. However, Doe and Cervenka chose to do material from their duo act which they labeled themselves “the punk rock Johnny (Cash) and June (Carter-Cash) .” Garbage came out to a huge ovation from the large crowd of Gen-Xers in attendance. Garbage frontwoman Shirley Manson also gave a shout out to legendary Seattle radio DJ Marco Collins; who was in attendance.
Blondie closed things out with a hit-filled set list that had everyone on their feet the entire time. Frontwoman Debbie Harry came out in a costume that featured beehive earphones and a cape with the phrase “Stop The Fucking Planet” emblazed on the back.
