The annual summer music festival, the Vans Warped Tour, kicked off its tour in the North Parking Lot of CenturyLink Field located in Seattle. Many a fan thought that the area would not be ideal for an all-day event of this size, but were people surprised! The festival’s organizers made great use of the area, being able to get sixty bands on seven stages along with vendor booths set up so that there were lots of areas for everyone to enjoy without feeling as if they were cramped or packed in like sardines.
Mother Nature graced Seattle with the absolutely gorgeous weather for the event. Each band was allotted a thirty-minute set. While one band played, the next band were setting up for their set. This made the bands stay close to their scheduled times and the day went very smooth.
As you can imagine, there many genres of music present at the show. From punk to ska, to various forms of metal, the event had something for everyone. It is easy to say that trying to cover all the bands would prove virtually impossible, so getting to see and capture images of as many bands as we could proved to be fun and also at times frustrating. But, overall it was a great experience and if you are on the fence about attending, it is highly recommended that you go. It is a great value for the money.
