What happens when you combine the crazy antics of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and St. Patricks Day in Seattle? Total mayhem!
RHCP made it’s triumphant return to the Emerald City on the biggest party day to hit the city of Seattle. With green beer flowing through the streets of Queen Anne Ave and Pioneer Square, and Flea slapping the bass while frontman Anthony Kiedis ran around the stage with the energy of a 12-year-old. Seattle was party city. And no party in Seattle wasn’t complete with a little precipitation.
The last time Red Hot Chili Peppers played KeyArena was over four years ago, and that was in support of the 2012 album I’m With You. This time around the band was back in support of last year’s magnum opus The Getaway. Many of which compared the album as their best since 1992’s BloodSugarSexMagik, an album that catapulted the band into superstardom.
Former Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Jack Irons opened things up with an amazing set that had to be seen. This included an amazing light show that complimented Irons set. New Orleans-based Trombone Shorty also opened for the band. Trombone Shorty is a Trombone prodigy that has worked with many artists including Green Day, and U2.
Red Hot Chili Peppers tour will continue through July, then the band will head off to Europe before heading back to the states in October.
